Transnet under scrutiny at #Statecaptureinquiry

The state capture inquiry heard on Monday how Transnet paid millions to companies who did not provide any services.

Evidence leader Paul Pretorius set the scene for coming evidence.

No one took the stand on Monday but a number of witnesses will be called in the course of the week.

 

“There is no doubt that money has been lost […] vast amounts of money have been lost,” Pretorius said of alleged corruption, fraud and state capture at Transnet, before raising the importance of function at Transnet.

He’s expected to shed light on how the Transnet board allegedly cooperated in the looting of the rail organisation.
