Two suspects in 2010 World Cup tender case granted bail

Two more suspects in a 2010 FIFA World Cup tender scandal have been granted bail. They briefly appeared at the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

Former KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, Mmamonnye Ngobeni, has been granted bail R20, 000.

While, former Police Captain, Ashwin Narainpershad, was also released on R10, 000 bail.

Ngobeni, Narainpershad and two others, including controversial businessman, Thoshan Panday, are accused of fraud and corruption relating to a 2010 FIFA World Cup tender.
