KwaZulu-Natal: At 09H48 Thursday morning, Netcare 911 responded to a collision on the R61 in Port Edward on the KZN South Coast.

Reports indicate that a mini-bus taxi and car were involved in a collision. Advanced Life Support paramedics assessed the scene and found that two people had sustained moderate injuries.

The patients were stabilised on scene and once treated were transported to the hospital for further care.

President Cyril Ramphosa has tasked the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) with ensuring that all retired mineworkers are given their retirement benefits owed to them by their employers.

Ramaphosa was addressing delegates at the NUM elective conference in Boksburg on Wednesday. He said that many retired mineworkers were still battling to claim what they were owed.

“Many retired mineworkers still face uphill battles to get what they are owed and what they are supposed to get. BIllions and billions of rands are still in funds unclaimed and not having reached those mineworkers,” the president said. Read More
