Two dead in Merrivale head-on crash
On AFriday night Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the R617 in the direction of Mpophomeni near to Midmar dam.
Reports from the scene indicate that a light motor vehicle which was being chased by the SAPS and a mini-bus taxi were involved in a head on collision.
The driver of the car had sustained fatal injuries, the passenger had sustained serious injuries and required Advanced Life Support intervention.
Two other patients sustained minor injuries and declined ambulance transportation to hospital.
Circumstances leading up to the collision will be investigated by the SAPS who were on scene.
