Tufting Mechanic urgently needed: Salary R16 000 per month

Tufting Mechanic will be responsible to conduct mechanical maintenance and repairs on the Tufting Machines and other plant and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Duties:

Receive maintenance schedule, interpret instructions and plan maintenance and repair work
Inspect the machines and determine spares and consumables requirements
Generate job requisitions for scheduled maintenance work (type of repair or maintenance, spares, quantities and time etc.)
Transport equipment and spares to the work site
Isolate equipment, perform lockouts and make the work area safe
Conduct preventative maintenance activities
Perform change overs in the production environment and conduct machine set ups
Count stock for a stock take integrity check (check spares condition during the count)

Experience & Qualification:

Matric, qualified Mechanic preferred or 2 year on job training as a Tufting Mechanic.
Trade tested Artisan preferably a qualified Tufting Technician
Experience in a textile manufacturing environment essential
Ability to lead a team
Fault diagnosis, root cause analysis in manufacturing
Set up and maintain tufting machines
