Trevor Noah will host Prime Video’s first South African Original series, LOL: Last One Laughing South Africa. The comedian ended his hosting duty on The Daily Show in 2022 after 7 years and he’s kicked off touring the world; he is back home as the host of a new TV show in SA.
According to News24, Noah will pit ten famous local comedians against one another to see who can keep a straight face while simultaneously trying to make their opponents laugh – and lose. The winner will win a grand prize of R1 million, which will be donated to their South African charity of choice.
In a press statement, Trevor expresses excitement about the show as it’s a medium to relate with his home audience. I’m excited to be back home to host Prime Video’s first South African Original, LOL: Last One Laughing, and to have a chance to connect with my home audience.
“I am equally delighted for the opportunity to be working alongside my fellow home-grown comedy stars on a show that not only entertains but gives back to the South African production and charity communities,” he added.
