UNTU members to continue Transnet strike
The Transnet Strike is set to enter its second week.
The United National Transport Union has rejected the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation, and Arbitration’s proposed 6% wage offer.
The union says it will continue to engage Transnet management.
Untu and Satawu have been holding out for an increase that is above the inflation rate of 7.6% after their initial demand of a hike of between 12% and 13.5%.
The strike action threatens to bring the country’s economy to its knees.
