Position Title: Able Seafarer, Dredging – Deck X2

Position Purpose:

To perform a multipurpose function by effecting and assisting with repairs and maintenance, dredging operations including allocated work stations integral for the dredgers seaworthiness and as a support to ensure it remains in class and the enhancement of the vessels ability to achieve operational targets set for any given period.

Position outputs:

Maintained dredging equipment and general maintenance: Integral to and assisting with a wide range of repairs and maintenance to dredge deck equipment of deck dredge and hopper equipment.

This includes the greasing of wires, washing down structures and general maintenance. Assist in reclaim process – tying up standing by all stations, connect up to reclaim pipe monitoring and providing feedback vital to the safe reclaim operations.

Maintained work stations and housekeeping: Ensure that the areas of work including accommodation and ablution facilities are kept in a neat clean and hygienic state.

Berthed and un-berthed dredger: Integral to the safe berthing and un-berthing of the dredger to ensure minimal disruption and contributing to improve cycle times.

Qualifications & Experience:

Able Seafarer – Deck, Certificate of Competence ( SAMSA)
First aid at sea cert.
Advanced fire fighting cert.
PSSR
Personal Survival Techniques (PST)
Proficiency in Survival craft ( PISC)
Experience in basic Engine room maintenance.
6-12 Months experience

Knowledge & Skills Required:

Wire and rope splicing
Good communication skills
Safety orientated
