Contralesa calls for inquiry into traditional leader murders

Contralesa is calling on the President to establish a commission of inquiry into the murders of traditional leaders.

Over 30 traditional leaders including izinduna and aides have been killed in KwaZulu-Natal alone.

President Cyril Ramaphosa says cooperation is needed to resolve matters affecting traditional leaders.

He says the Inter-Ministerial Task Team, established earlier this year, is looking at issues.

The team will hold meetings with traditional leaders, including those from the Khoi-San community.

Ramaphosa was speaking at Contralesa’s eighth elective congress, in Boksburg on Saturday.
