Bus company Putco has condemned the torching of its five buses at a depot in Nancefield, south of Johannesburg, on Sunday night.
It’s still unclear what prompted the incident or who, but police are investigating.
Putco spokesperson Lindokuhle Xulu says this is pure criminal behaviour that shouldn’t go unpunished.
“So we did get information that buses were set alight. Fortunately, there was no injury reported at this stage,” he said.
“What is important to note is that we’ve reported this matter. What we’re going to do is allow police to investigate and thereafter we’ll be able then to act.”
