Persistent rain tops up dams

Recent rains are a boost for water supply.

So says Water and Sanitation Department spokesperson, Sputnik Ratau.

Dams are full, and more rain is forecast.

“It is good news to a great deal in the sense that we are seeing the results that mainly fall over our catchments,” he said.

“When we looked at the Vaal Dam yesterday [Saturday], it was just over 100 percent. My sense is that this morning it will higher.

“That is good for water availability at this time.”
