Miss World Toni-Ann Singh falls in love with Mzansi

MISS World Toni-Ann Singh said she loves South Africa as it has beautiful places and beautiful people who are friendly, loving and caring.
Speaking to Daily Sun, Toni-Ann said: “To be Miss World just means that I have to represent all women and bring funding towards these projects because women all across the world have been doing such phenomenal work. It’s our duty to support them and give them help.”
Toni-Ann joined Miss South Africa 2020, Shudufhadzo Musida, at the Charlotte Maxeke Memorial Lecture which took place at Glen High School in Tshwane on Monday, 18 October.
She said she never imagined that she would be Miss World but believes that God is very specific about his plans for everyone. She said she is asking God to continue guiding her as the journey has been incredible.
“I know the world has been hurt because of the Covid-19 pandemic and we found it best not to have a competition last year for Miss World and not to put anyone in danger. I’m happy to finally be back on the road,” she said.
“As Miss World, I just want to change the perception of one young girl and boy and that alone will create an amazing sustainable change,” she said.
She also said South Africa is amazing. She said the food, people and music are all incredible.
She said she came to Mzansi on 15 October for Miss South Africa’s crowning in Cape Town.
On Monday, she visited schools in Tshwane and Soweto in Joburg. She will be leaving Mzansi this week.
“It is pretty sad to leave a beautiful country like South Africa but that won’t be a goodbye.
“There is a special relationship between Miss World and the Mandela family and it will not be my last time in South Africa,” said Toni-Ann.
Shudufhadzo said: “The journey has been an amazing experience. To have been Miss South Africa and helping the minds of South Africans through mental health education through the mindful movement has been amazing.
“Handing over the crown was such a privilege because I got to hand over to an amazing woman, Lalela Mswane, who has her own advocacy that is for the advancement of the youth. I’m very keen to see how she will be doing it and how we can best support that idea to make sure we all work together to make South Africa a better place.”
