Ex-Finance Minister Tito Mboweni reacts to his photoshopped snap

Mzansi social media users are known for their love of memes, for any and every occasion! But ex-cabinet minister Tito Mboweni refuses to entertain any pics making light of himself.
The ex-Reserve Bank governor and Minister of Finance clapped back at Twitter users who poked fun at his recent image.
Always one to take a joke – especially when it comes to his cooking – Tito Mboweni surprised tweeps when he clapped back at a Photoshopped picture of himself.

The meme was derived from an image Tito recently tweeted of himself sitting in the dark during load shedding. But silly social media users hilariously Photoshopped two cigarettes into his nostrils instead.

It’s not the first time, Tito Mboweni has had stern words for Twitter users. A year ago, the amateur cook clapped back at another Photoshopped image.
The pic featured his likeness – but a chubbier version, à la “Nutty Professor” – being used as a meme.
Taking to Twitter, he posted: “Photoshopping people’s pictures, distorting them should be illegal! This is not me!”.

But hours later, it seems Tito Mboweni had embraced the notion of “if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em”.
He tweeted a pic of himself alongside a Photoshopped pic of Cyril Ramaphosa.
He captioned the pics: “In difficult and challenging times, it is good to have a moment of laughter!”
