Our people are tired of corruption, says Ramaphosa
President Cyril Ramaphosa has used his Freedom Day address to crack the whip on government officials.
He says people are tired of corruption.
Ramaphosa gave his keynote address in Middelburg Mpumalanga on Wednesday.
“As government at local, provincial, and national level, we must consolidate efforts to deliver our promises to the people of South Africa by managing public resources properly and wisely and by taking a firm stand and line against corruption,” he said.
“Our people are tired of corruption, they want municipalities that are going to work for them.”
Ramaphosa also emphasized that the inhumanity of apartheid will never happen again.
He says the country will never return to its racist past.
