Thembi Seete – I loved you before I knew you my Son

Two years ago, aged 41-years-old, South African music and television icon Thembi Seete revealed that she was expecting her first child and her fans across Southern African were delighted on her behalf. Fast forward two or more years later, the baby is all grown and full of life. Her mother recently took to Instagram to appreciate her one and only son.

Her fellow celebs in Bohang Moeko, Zola Nombona and Nhlanhla Nciza also took to Thembi’s comment section to gush over her son.

Thembi currently plays the character of Gladys on SABC 1’s hit soap drama Gomora. Her character is wife to Zolia Xaluva’s Melusi Dlamini and mother to Ntobeko Sishi’s Ntokozo and a social worker in the township of Alexandra, North of Johannesburg.

Her character has been accused on many occasions for being a toxic mother and wife. Fans of Gomora have criticised her for putting the needs of everyone else over her son’s own needs. Although still very new, the telenovela has received many a rave review.

Having recently come back from a social media hiatus after her mother Zindzi Mandela’s death, author and activist Zoleka Mandela has opened up about the emotional toll grieving has taken on her.
