Grade 1 and 8 pupils placed, says Gauteng Education Dept

The Gauteng Department of Education says all Grade 1 and 8 pupils who applied online for the 2022 school year have been placed.

The start of the academic year saw many frustrated parents line up outside schools to try to find a space for their children.

Gauteng Education says a total of 347,216 applications were received.

The department adds that it also received over 25,000 applications since it opened late submissions on 12 January 2022.
