Thami Ntuli set to announce Cabinet after inauguration as KZN premier

Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) KwaZulu-Natal leader, Thami Ntuli, will on Tuesday morning be inaugurated as the premier of the province.

He was elected during the province’s first sitting of the seventh administration last week.

Ntuli was delivered by the IFP, Democratic Alliance (DA), African National Congress (ANC) and National Freedom Party (NFP) arrangement, which have sidelined the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).

He promised that he would tackle the challenges facing the citizens.

Attendees have started arriving at the Woodburn Rugby Stadium in Pietermaritzburg.

On Tuesday, KwaZulu-Natal will have a new premier delivered by a coalition government, as the IFP’s Ntuli will officially take over from the ANC’s Nomusa Dube-Ncube.

The publication understands that Ntuli will also announce his Cabinet, with MECs from the four parties.

The DA’s Francios Rodgers said the incoming provincial government would be one that delivered on its promises.

“All of the parties believe we need to deliver on our promises during elections and I think that is the most important thing.”

The ceremony is set to get underway soon.
