3 more suspects arrested in Thabo Bester escape saga
Police have arrested three more suspects in the Thabo Bester escape saga.
All three are G4S employees.
Two of the suspects are 47 years of age and the third is 37.
One suspect was arrested at his home in Botshabelo in the Free State.
The other two were arrested at their place of residence in Bloemfontein
They all face a charge of assisting an inmate to escape from lawful custody, violation of a corpse, and corruption.
In May last year convicted rapist and murderer Bester faked his own suicide and escaped from his cell in Bloemfontein.
He was eventually recaptured in Tanzania earlier this year.
The latest arrests bring the total of those facing charges in connection with this escape to 12.
The three will appear in the Bloemfontein magistrates court on Wednesday.
