MDC National Deputy Chairperson Tendai Biti has been found guilty by Harare magistrate Gloria Takundwa of announcing results yet he is not a Zimbabwe Electoral Commission official.
Magistrate Takundwa said the address at the conference constitutes the official announcement and it had an element to undermine ZEC.
The two counts were treated as one. For the first count, Biti will pay a $200 fine or 7 days imprisonment.
For the second count, he was sentenced to 6 months in jail which was wholly suspended on condition of good behaviour
