The Aurum Institute is offering a great opportunity to suitably qualified and experienced staff to contribute towards our mission to improve the health of people and communities through innovation in TB and HIV integration. We are focussed on researching, supporting and implementing integrated approaches to managing TB and HIV.

A temporary opportunity has arisen for a Data Capturer to be part of the Dynamic Data Management Department and you are welcome to apply should you meet the requirements for the position.

Specification

1.Data Capturing:

Collect and store data appropriately as described in the Data Plan and SOPs
Review hard copy data forms for completeness
Collate the data and record a summary of the day’s activities
Accurately capture data from paper forms into a project-specific database
Assist DCS with completion of registers and clinical stationeries
Assist in managing filing systems for reporting and data quality assurance purposes
Assist with responding to queries from data cleaning and other activities to ensure data accuracy and validity
Work together with other staff to ensure the good quality and completeness of data prior to entry.

1. Administration:

Compiling and reporting of daily, weekly or monthly statistics
Filing project-related case report forms and other documentation

1.General:

Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures according to prescribed procedures
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
Report all unsafe activities to Management/Human Resources

Requirements

Qualification / Professional Membership
Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 qualification.
Work Experience
At least 1 years’ experience using TB/HIV data collection tools including screening forms and clinical stationaries.

Other requirements
Basic personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, etc.

Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality
Be diligent, reliable, honest, meticulous with regard to detail and hard-working
Flexibility and ability to work under pressure
