More than 200 teenagers died since start of COVID-19

Over 200 teenagers have died of COVID-19 since the pandemic hit South Africa.

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) says cases also increased during the third wave.

Transmission has mainly been from parent to child.

Meanwhile, the NICD said 4,215 new coronavirus cases were recorded in the past 24 hours, and 311 people succumbed to the virus.
