At 16H26 Wednesday late afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of a serious collision on the M7 East Bound approximately 1km before the Bellville offramp.
Reports from the scene indicate that a mini-bus taxi drove into the back of a truck.
Two adult males, the driver and front seat passenger sustained serious injuries and required Advanced Life Support intervention.
Due to the nature of their injuries the Netcare 5 specialised helicopter ambulance as well as another private air ambulance was called to the scene to airlift them to hospital.
