Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula says the formalization of the taxi industry is in progress.
Talks to reform the industry kicked off last year when Mbalula launched the National Taxi Lekgotla Public Discourse Platform.
The minister has been delivering his department’s budget vote.
Meanwhile, Mbalula says his department is considering having longer operating hours while using technology at driving licence centres.
