8 injured in a taxi accident

Eight people were injured after a minibus taxi crashed on Buffelsdraai Road in Buffelsdraai, KZN on Friday morning.

According to Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa) spokesperson Prem Balram, Rusa members received multiple calls reporting the incident at around 7:24 am.

“On arrival, it was established that the fully loaded grey Toyota Hiace was traveling down a steep road when the brakes failed.

“The vehicle came to a stop after it struck a Jojo tank, and collided with a wooden and iron structure and a light pole. Eight occupants of the vehicle sustained minor to moderate injuries.

He added that the injured passengers were stabilized on the scene before being transported to the hospital by ambulance.
