Tania Campell accuses EFF of engaging in immature politics

Former Ekurhuleni Mayor Tania Campell said the Economic Freedom Freedom (EFF) was engaging in immature politics for falsely claiming that waste collection trucks belonging to the municipality had been stolen.
EFF Ekurhuleni caucus leader and MMC for Finance Nkululeko Dunga recently made a claim that 71 trucks from the city’s depots were missing.
However, in a written response to the publication, a municipal spokesperson said an audit of the city’s fleet on Tuesday confirmed all 127 of the city’s trucks were accounted for.
Campbell said before her administration was voted out of office, they did an audit of the city’s waste management fleet after concerns about poor service delivery.
“So we had done a full audit, every single truck was accounted for, trucks that would not and would not have been able to be repaired were set for auction when an item went through to council, so no, there is no such thing as missing trucks.”
