WATCH: Police officers spotted allegedly taking tjotjo (bribe)

A video of cops appearing to be receiving a bribe circulated on social media earlier this week. It has since emerged that the cops in a Golf 6 police vehicle are members of the Kempton Park Visible Policing, provincial police confirmed.
In the video, a group of men on the side of the road are seen interacting with cops.
Shortly afterwards, one of the unidentified men is seen reaching out to his wallet.
He takes out what appears to be money before handing it over through the window.
It’s unclear how many officers were inside the car, but one of the cops stood outside as the incident unfolded.
Social media users have accused cops of working with drug lords in the area, but police did not comment on these allegations.

Provincial spokeswoman Colonel Dimakatso Sello said an enquiry has been opened against the officers for further investigations through the anti-corruption unit.
“The management of SAPS in Gauteng has noted with concern the video that is circulating on social media whereby police officers appear to be receiving a bribe.
“Receiving a bribe is taken as a serious criminal offence and it’s punishable by law,” said Sello.
Acting provincial commissioner, Major-General Girly Mbele said: “The SAPS management will not tolerate any criminal activities.
“All SAPS members have a responsibility to uphold and enforce the law as mandated by the Constitution of this country and further adhere to the Code of Conduct.”
The public is urged to be whistleblowers and take part in stopping corruption by reporting incidents to the police anti-corruption hotline on 080 043 4373.
