Woman swept away by floods while walking with hubby

A woman was swept away by floods while walking with her husband in the early hours of Saturday morning, 18 February 2023.
The Johannesburg Emergency Management Services (EMS) attended to a drowning incident in Lehae, south of Johannesburg.
The Johannesburg EMS spokeswoman, Xolile Khumalo told the publication that preliminary investigations reveal that the 42-year-old woman was walking with her husband when she was suddenly swept away by floods.
She said the EMS team was dispatched to where the incident occurred. They started the search and after few hours, the body of the woman was recovered and identified by her family.
“She was found at Lehae dam,” said Khumalo. She also added that another team in Diepsloot continues to search for another person who was swept away by floods.
