According to Amy Robach on Good Morning America, Oprah also shared that she thinks “should keep the news around their first child’s birth private.”
That’s exactly what the royals intend to do. In April, Buckingham Palace announced that the Duke and Duchess “look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.” And at this point, information about Meghan’s due date and where she will deliver have yet to be confirmed publicly.
While her appearance at the royal wedding came as something of a surprise to many royal watchers, it’s clear that the Oprah has a close relationship with the Sussexes.
In a social media post yesterday highlighting Mental Health Awareness Month in the U.S. and Mental Health Awareness Week in the U.K., Meghan and Harry tagged Oprah’s SuperSoul Sunday television series.
“To pay tribute to all of the incredible work people across the globe are doing in this space, we are hoping to shine a light on several Instagram accounts that promote mental well-being, mental fitness, body positivity, self-care, and the importance of human connection – to not just hear each other, but to listen,” reads the caption of the post.Earlier this spring, Kensington Palace also announced that Prince Harry is partnering with Oprah on a documentary series about mental health, which will launch on Apple TV in 2020.
“The multi-part documentary series will focus on both mental illness and mental wellness, inspiring viewers to have an honest conversation about the challenges each of us faces, and how to equip ourselves with the tools to thrive, rather than to simply survive,” reads a statement released about the program.
