KwaZulu-Natal: At 06H38 Sunday morning, Netcare 911 responded to a collision on the N2 near the M25 Kwa-Mashu off-ramp, in Avoca, Durban.
Reports indicate that the driver of an SUV lost control, resulting in the vehicle crashing through the safety barriers, down an embankment about fifteen meters, coming to rest on railway tracks below.
When medics arrived on the scene, they found that the occupants had been thrown from the vehicle.
On assessment, medics found that an adult male and adult female had sustained fatal injuries and were declared deceased on the scene.
The third patient, an adult male, had sustained moderate to serious injuries and was treated on scene before being transported by ambulance to the hospital for further care.
