Eskom suspends load shedding from midday
Eskom will suspend power cuts from midday as generation capacity recovers.
The power utility says the system has recovered and that emergency reserves have been adequately replenished.
Units at Matla, Majuba, Grootvlei, and Kendal power stations have returned to service.
On Friday, blackouts were reduced to Stage 1.
Eskom says although the generators have been restored there’s an increased demand for electricity as winter looms.
Consumers are being urged to use power sparingly.
