A Brazilian priest is in hot water for running over a suspected robber, who allegedly stole from his church on 7 May.
According to Daily Mail, Gustavo Trindade (37) launched his vehicle into the alleged thief for stealing three hooded sweatshirts and a T-shirt.
It is reported that a CCTV camera captured the priest speeding on the street in a white sedan before ploughing into the suspected thief and building.
He had reportedly been on the run following the incident until Wednesday, 11 May, when he appeared at the Santa Cruz Rio do Rio Pardo Court, accompanied by two lawyers.
The publication reported that judge Pedro de Castro declined a request by cops to hold the priest in pre-trial detention, arguing that he was not a flight risk.
Surprisingly, the man of God did the shocking act straight after officiating a wedding.
And the bride, Tatiane de Fátima, said she was delighted that the incident happened after more than 100 guests had left the ceremony.
“Whether you like it or not, this will end up marking the history of my wedding day. There’s no way around it,” she said.
