NLC beneficiaries ordered to surrender assets

Beneficiaries of National Lotteries Commission grant funding have been ordered to surrender assets to the Special Investigating Unit’s appointed curator.

The assets include residential property in Zwartkop and four luxury vehicles.

The SIU believes that the assets are proceeds of unlawful activity and should be forfeited to the state.

Inqaba Yokulinda, a Non-Profit Organisation, received R19.2-million in funding from the NLC between 2018 and 2019.

This was for the construction of athletic tracks in the North West and Mpumalanga.

But the company’s director earlier said she was forced to pay some money over to an IT company which didn’t deliver on the work.
