Sundowns to face Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League semi-finals

Mamelodi Sundowns will come up against a familiar team in the CAF Champions League semi-finals after eliminating eight-time winners Al Ahly.

The Brazilians overcame Al Ahly in the quarter-final stage after claiming a 5-1 aggregate victory on Saturday evening.

Sundowns will now do battle with Wydad Casablanca in the final four after the Algerians defeated Horoya in the last eight.

Pitso Mosimane’s troops and Wydad were paired in Group A, where the Algerians secured top spot

When the two sides met in Pretoria, Sundowns claimed a 2-1 victory while Wydad registered a 1-0 win in the return fixture.

The other semi-final will see Congolese outfit TP Mazembe take on Esperance.
