Student walk campaign set to raise millions

A group of mostly students has walked from Cape Town to Pretoria, to raise money for their poor and financially-excluded compatriots.

The journey began on the 21st of March and ended this week.

The Walk for Access Campaign, which includes a pastor, lawyer and Tuks students, is hoping to raise R4-million.

Student Luvuyo Menziwa says the main issue is a total review of the NSFA system.

Every year, Pastor Immanuel Landman’s church receives more than 30 students who haven’t been placed at university residences.

They either sleep on the floor or on the streets.
