Department of Basic Education: Union members will report for duty amid strike threat

With the public servants threatening a full-blown strike this week, the Department of Basic Education says there have been engagements with unions to ensure that Matric exams aren’t disrupted.

The Class of 2022 is starting final exams on Monday, and there have been concerns a strike might have an impact on the exams.

The department says teacher unions have assured them that members will report for duty this week.
