Transnet workers threaten strike action

Transnet workers are threatening to embark on a nationwide strike over wage disputes.
They rejected a 1.5% increase from the state-owned freight logistics group.
The United National Transport Union has 60% of Transnet’s more than 55,000 strong workforce in its membership.
They say it will down tools on Thursday.
The rail and port operator, which carries essential commodities like coal and iron ore, has struggled to meet its commitments due to failing infrastructure and theft.
