You as a Storeman, will be part of Power Grids business based in Modderfontein, South Africa. Reporting to the Stores Supervisor, you are responsible for executing activities relating to the physical movement, storage and control of goods within and between the ABB warehouses. Following and ensuring that established procedures are implemented to receive, handle, store, record and dispatch goods as required.
Your responsibilities:
Receiving of Goods into the Warehouses from Suppliers, from Customers, from the Factories and from other Warehouses.
Picking and Issuing of Goods into the Factories, to Customers and between the Warehouses. Goods Picked and Issued timeously in accordance with production plan.
Confirmation of Stock on Hand via periodic Cycle Counts and Stock Takes.
Binning of Goods into specified locations within specified times.
Materials Handling and Movement and Transport of Goods within and between Warehouses and Factories. This will include the driving of the small truck assigned to the Warehouse.
Completion and control of all Warehouse related documents, e.g. Receipts, Issues, Picklists, stock take sheets etc. within specified times.
Confirmation of receipt/issue of specified quantities. Confirmation that packaging is not damaged. Reporting on any perceived fault on goods received and binned or picked and issued.
Consciously seeking to identify and report any maintenance problems encountered during day to day activities.
Participating in activities to optimize warehouse layout and related processes capacity.
Ensuring that housekeeping in the Warehouse is always of a superior standard.
Ensuring compliance to Power Grids standards of health and safety always. Ensuring compliance to quality and environmental standards are always maintained.

Your background:
Matric in Mathematics &/or Accounting are Mandatory.
Prior Warehousing Experience would be beneficial.
Prior SAP knowledge would be beneficial – MM module.
Driver License is Mandatory – Code EB or higher.
Prior Forklift License would be beneficial.
Willingness to work overtime.
Physically strong enough to complete packing and unpacking of shelves and trucks.
Prior Crane Licensing would be beneficial.
