State-owned enterprises a concern for Scopa

The state of our state-owned enterprises still remains a concern.
However, the Portfolio Committee chair on Public Enterprises says Treasury isn’t doing enough to assist these entities adequately.
Chairperson Khaya Magaxa said: “What concerned us most about Denel is the non-payment of the staff and those are families, and the problem has been there for quite some time.
“However, we do appreciate the damage that has been created on Denel by the previous admin… Denel is a victim if state capture … we don’t think that Treasury is doing enough to assist these entities to get out of the quagmire that they are in… we hope that next week when Denel comes to meet with us such concerns will be dealt with.”
