WC premier calls for state of disaster to be lifted

It’s time to lift the national state of disaster.
At least that’s what Western Cape premier Alan Winde believes.
He says the health system is coping and there’s no need for it anymore.
Winde welcomed the recent lifting of lockdown restrictions.
“I am feeling more and more optimistic, we’ve been saying for the last couple of days that it feels like we’re in the peak,” Winde said.
“In actual fact, I’m supportive of removing the whole disaster declaration, I don’t think we need to be in a state of disaster now.”
