Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo says State capture inquiry to resume soon

Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo says plans are underway for the state capture commission to resume with public hearings towards the end of June.

The Deputy Chief Justice was briefing the media on the work of the commission during the lockdown period. The commission has been out of action since 17 March due to the coronavirus outbreak. Zondo says the commission is determined to meet its March 2021 deadline.

“The entire commission is focused on finishing its work within the life span that has been given to it by the high court. We are doing everything we can, we are working flat out to try and fish the work,” said Zondo.

In February, the court granted the Zondo commission a final extension to complete its work by 31 March 2021.
