We don’t stand with Gays – Lasizwe slapped in the face by Zimbabweans as he tries to show some love

Reality show star Lasizwe Dambuza, has been subjected to some homophobia from fellow African brothers and sister from Zimbabwe. This follows after scores of people across the world have showed solidarity of the #BlackLivesMatter movement in Zimbabwe, which gained momentum, amid anti-corruption protests and human rights abuses.
Lasizwe tweeted and said “I Stand With Zimbabwe,” but a homophobic Zimbabwean spewed bile on Lasizwe and said Zimbabweans do not stand with gays.
This has also ruffled feathers of the LGBTQI community in the country, who have made it clear that they stand with Lasizwe and Zimbabweans must fight their own battles alone now.
Lasizwe:”I stand with Zimbabwe”.
Zimbabwe folks: “we don’t stand with gays”
Amidst their tragedy they still found a way to be homophobic.
We should all sit down ke moss if the support depends on who it comes from for it to matter. It’s not OK!

Unfortunately Zimbabwe is a homophobic country. My heart goes out to Lasizwe. He didn’t deserve that. 💔 I hope he’s not deterred from speaking up about the injustices happening in ZIM.

Responding to the hate Lasizwe expressed how heartbroken he is, he wrote, “The homophobia I am currently experiencing from my fellow african brothers and sisters is heart breaking! We still have a long way to go for the LGBTQI community to be free in Africa.”
