Stage 2 load-shedding to continue on Saturday: Eskom

Eskom continues to take pressure with continuing Stage 2 load-shedding set to persist throughout the weekend. Eskom has announced that rotational Stage 2 load-shedding continues on Saturday. The power utility says this will likely continue through to Sunday and the week ahead. Eskom says this is due to a shortage of generation capacity.
“Customers are advised that any additional shifts on the system may require a change in the load-shedding stage,” Eskom said in a statement. Eskom had the following tips for customers.
Set air-conditioners’ average temperature at 23 degrees
Switch off geysers over peak periods
Use the cold water tap rather than using the geyser every time
Set your swimming pool pump cycle to run twice a day, three hours at a time for optimal energy use
At the end of the day, turn off computers, copiers, printers and fax machines at the switch. Avoid standby or sleep mode.
