Stage 2 load shedding for Sunday, stage 3 to startfrom 8pm
Load shedding will be reduced to stage two on Sunday morning until 8 pm before the rolling power cuts are ramped up to stage three.
Eskom says it’s implementing daytime load shedding due to the breakdown of three generating units and the need to replenish its emergency reserves for the upcoming week.
Spokesperson Daphne Mokwena said the outlook for the week ahead would be provided on Sunday.
“Unplanned outages account for 15,409MW of generating capacity, while the capacity out of service for planned maintenance is 6,261mw. A total of 3,570MW of generating capacity is anticipated to return to service by Monday.”
