Stage 1 load-shedding to move to Stage 2

Eskom has announced Stage 1 load-shedding will move to Stage 2 from 9:00am on Friday morning. The power utility said the system remains vulnerable and while they have returned units to the system, they lost additional generating units on Thursday necessitating shedding on Friday. On Wednesday, President Cyril Ramaphosa said sabotage at the power utility is partly to blame for load-shedding.
Ramaphosa said decisive action needs to be taken against the sabotage at Eskom. Eskom has asked that customers reduce their use of electricity as a decrease in collective demand would ease the load on the system.
