Update: Witness says masked men attacked Soweto tavern
A witness to the Soweto tavern mass shooting says masked gunmen opened fire.
He also says they fled in a Toyota Quantum.
Fourteen people were killed just after midnight at the Nomzamo informal settlement in Orlando.
Three others remain in critical condition in the hospital.
Gauteng police have deployed a team of detectives to the scene.
Provincial police commissioner Elias Mawela said it is a bad scene.
“I have no doubt in my mind that with the cooperation of the community here giving us the information, we will be able to crack this case,” he said.
