N1 approaching Soweto reopened following protests
The N1 approaching the Soweto Highway has been reopened following protests this morning.
Authorities say traffic is now moving slowly.
“The freeway has now been opened so traffic is moving but very slowly because of the backup and we had to divert traffic away from Soweto,” said JMPD spokesperson, Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar.
However, roads inside Soweto are still blocked.
