South Africa’s World Cup hopes dented with loss to Rwanda

The South African men’s football team’s World Cup qualification campaign suffered a setback after losing to Rwanda in Butare.

Rwanda won 2-0 scoring both goals in the first half, aided by poor defence from Bafana Bafana, while the South Africans battled to create attacking opportunities for themselves.

Bafana had more chances in the second half but Rwanda’s defence was up to the task. Rwanda now top Group C with South Africa in second place after two games.
