Somizi And Mohale’s Love Story Wins Best Seller

When Mohale and Somizi Mhlongo-Motaung graced the cover of True Love magazine earlier this year, there were numerous reports that they were not happy in their marriage. Despite the reports, they came out to clear the air that they were “very much in love” but, a few months later, they were rocked by divorce rumors.

The glorious issue which was published in February 2021 and it stole the hearts of many people as they addressed several things which were on everyone’s lips.

It focused more on them making their marriage work despite continuous media reports that their fairytale marriage was becoming sour and everything was hanging by a thread. It also highlighted their marriage’s goal of making more money and the age gap in between them.

According to Phil Mphela, the cover was the magazine’s top seller for 2020/21.

Despite their efforts to mask the fact that they were no longer together, the couple was going through a rough time. Somizi even insulted journalists when they inquired about their marriage being on the rocks. This follows after City Press journalist Julia Madibogo approached him for a comment on rumors that him and Mohale were separating. In response, Somizi called the journalist out on social media and made their number public.

SANEF was distraught by his action and called him out. In a statement SANEF said Somgaga was irresponsible and he was ordered to apologize, “We believe this is irresponsible in the extreme and potentially unlawful conduct. Mhlongo has a massive support base and a following in excess of almost 4-million on the Instagram social platform and his followers have resorted to intimidation and harassment of journalists on all social media platforms. They have subjected both Madibogo and Khumalo to torrents of insults and threats,” reads the statement.

An adamant Somizi, refused to apologize and said he will apologize for sharing the journalist’s number only. A couple of months later Mohale brought the country to a complete standstill after he made damning accusations against Somgaga in leaked audio. He accused him of being physically abusive and exposed their bedroom affairs which involve Somizi’s wild sexual fantasies.

According to him, Somizi dictated whom he could work with in the industry. This even raised eyebrows since he mentioned that Somizi never wanted him to work with The Fergusons.

Somizi later released a statement and vehemently denied abusing his husband and accused Mohale of deliberately harming a reputation he has worked so hard to build.

” Our relationship has its ups and downs but I have NEVER been physically or knowingly emotionally abusive towards my estranged husband. I vehemently deny the allegations of criminal acts towards him and would like to clear my name of that defamation. What I am going to state however is that we had one altercation in which I had to defend myself and both of use were physically hurt by the other. I am at this stage not at liberty to dive deeper into the details but can state that he is not a victim in this situation.

“I have been accused of sabotaging his efforts to be financially independent and can confirm that I have never made a concerted effort to block his opportunities. In fact, I have encouraged, I have even through my own channels petitioned for opportunities for him to make money through my networks and I’ve amplified some of the work he’s done,” he said.
