Sol Phenduka: Boity holds a special place in my heart

FORMER radio presenter and musician, Sol Phenduka, has opened up about how rapper Boity helped him out when he was down and out.
The media personality, who co-hosts YouTube show Podcast and Chill, said Boity had a special place in his heart because when he was recovering from his gambling addiction, she helped him.
During an episode on Monday, 4 October, co-host MacG asked him what he thought about the matter where Bujy allegedly assaulted Boity last week, ending up spending the weekend in jail.
Sol said it was close to home because he knew both of them personally.
“It’s sensitive. We know Bujy as he’s family on the podcast network. Boity holds a special place in my heart,” he said.
He then opened up about how she came through for him at his time of need, revealing that the Ba Kae rapper even sent him R4 000.
“When I was down and out, I reached out to her and she helped me. My granny had just passed away and I was a mess at that time. I didn’t want my family to see me like that. No one in my family knew where I was, and I was renting a small place in town,” he said.
“I called because she had assisted me before when I was recovering and when I needed cash. I needed to look good for my grandmother’s funeral and she said no problem. She sent me R4k and I looked dapper – and no one in my family knew I had problems,” he added.
They then called Bujy’s lawyer on the show and asked him for an update on the case.
“I got a brief from my client Bujy, and I’m still taking instructions as to what really happened. At this stage, I can’t comment on the merits of the matter,” said the lawyer.
