The purpose of the Software Developer is to effectively analyse business requirements and execute the tasks related to the delivery of the solution and to ensure that all technical solutions are delivered based on best practices.

Job Requirements:

Essential Duties:

New solution development
Maintenance development
Code and release management (code check-in, build and distribute releases)
Code Reviews
Solution Architecture with input from technical lead
Ensure the delivery of quality solutions
Technical support for fellow developers in the development team
Provide technical inputs in meetings
Technical documentation – create, maintain and review fellow developer documentation
Help team members understand existing functionality and new functional requirements as well as new functionality (cross- skilling)
Report development progress, results and key metrics at agreed intervals

General:

The software developer:

Is up-to-date with technology, standards and the way that it should be implemented
Is able to scope, design and implement solutions
Is able to provides implementation options
Provides progress reports

New development:

Help provide estimates for application changes
Present alternative solutions for new development where applicable
Develop changes in line with the application architecture and technical standards
Unit test own code
Update technical models and documentation to align with new development
Assist with implementation of best practices and standards
Must be able to prioritize development in-line with business requirements
Must liaise with project stakeholders as required during the SDLC

Production implementations:

Create deployment instructions and artefacts
Be on standby for production deployments and resolve issues that may arise Support:

Investigate production errors where required
Technical support on applications responsible for Collaboration:

Provide input to application design and architecture when required
Provide input to analysts and testers when required

Work Experience:

Essential

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a formal development environment in a software development role using the following technologies:

C# / JAVA
T-SQL (Microsoft SQL Server)
RESTful/SOAP Web Services
Beneficial

ASP.NET MVC
WebForms
HTML, CSS, JsvaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap
Skills & Knowledge

Database Design
Source Control (TFS, GIT)
Agile Project Management (KANBAN, SCRUM)
Test Driven Development
Ability to stay current with latest technology trends as well as software development trends
